We are delighted to have a new roaster join our coffee subscription platform - Balance Coffee.

At Balance Coffee, founder James Bellis believes “balance is the key to living your best life!”.

After eight years of working in the coffee industry, James took the leap and set up his coffee business during the COVID 19 pandemic. Combining his experience in the industry and his passion for coffee, Balance emerged on the market with a mission to create change and make a positive contribution to people and the planet. And the result? Ethically sourced high-quality, “flawlessly balanced” coffee.

What makes Balance Coffee different

The coffees produced by Balance Coffee suppliers are speciality grade, meaning they are rare and difficult to find in supermarkets. Speciality is the highest grade of coffee found worldwide. Only 3% of coffee worldwide makes the ‘speciality’ grade.

Balance coffee beans are sourced worldwide, ensuring high standards are delivered regarding both flavour and ethical sourcing.

Each coffee goes through a rigorous selection process, roasting and taste-testing to ensure quality and consistency in every cup.

Why are they different?

For every bag of coffee sold, Balance Coffee:

  • Helps plant trees every month to offset the harmful effects of C02 on the planet. In 2020 they planted over 200 trees.
  • Donates 1% to project waterfall, a coffee charity that helps provide clean water for coffee-growing communities. (Find out how Coffee Hit supports Project Waterfall here.)
  • Helps coffee farmers at origin to improve their livelihoods by choosing to source ethical coffee.

At the beginning of 2021, Balance Coffee switched to 100% recyclable packaging to continue operating more sustainably. They have reduced water usage by 33% and recycle everything possible, including recyclable content, boxes and packaging.
